About Us

Who We Are

Life is hard. Situations can be discouraging. Answers can seem impossible to find.  Wherever you find yourself, we want to meet you right where you are.

You should be able to embrace a faith family where you are encouraged to grow in Christ and community. At Glen, there is no need to dress up. Come worship God with us just as you are. You will find a warm, vibrant, gospel-centered, and Christ-loving people who are broken and far from perfect but who are being built up spiritually through worship, discipleship, service, and missions.

We want everything we do to be intentional and meaningful. Even our logo describes our purpose. When you see and understand our logo, you know who we are and what we are about.

A triangle is a historically important Christian symbol because it was one of the earliest symbols used in the church to describe the Triune God of the Bible. This became a definitive symbol of the Christian God in the second century church.

Later, the triangle took on another special meaning. It was used to describe the relationship between Christians in community with one another and with God. God has designed us to get closer to each other as we get closer to him. God has created us to thrive in community. Just as there is a direct relationship between the distance between the side points of a triangle and the top point, there is a direct relationship between our relationship with others and our relationship to God.

We have chosen the triangle to describe our church. It reminds us who God is: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. It also reminds us how we grow in relationship to him, by growing in our relationship with others.  The Glen Baptist triangle is also wrapped in four lanes.  These four lanes represent how God has called us to grow together in Christ and community. We grow together through worship, service, missions, and discipleship. As we engage in these activities, God closes in the triangle growing us up into him and closer with one another.

What We Believe

We affirm the Baptist Faith and Message Statement. You can find and read this statement of beliefs by visiting the website for the Southern Baptist Convention.

What we believe about the Bible

God has made Himself known to the world through the Old and New Testament Scriptures. We believe the Bible is the perfect Word of God and without error.

What we believe about God

We believe in one God eternally existing as one essence and three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, each of whom is fully God, yet there is one God.

What we believe about Creation and the Creator

We believe that God created the world from nothing and governs all things at all times in all places.

What we believe about Humankind

We believe that all humanity is created in the image of God and possesses intrinsic dignity and worth.

What we believe about Sin

We believe that sin has broken all things, leaving every individual in the world in desperate need of forgiveness and salvation.

What we believe about Salvation

We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. No person can be forgiven and have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ apart from repentance from sin and trusting in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.

What we believe about the Church

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ given to the world to be Jesus Christ’s ambassadors. No church is perfect, but we worship a perfect Savior.

What we believe about Resurrection and the Kingdom of God

We believe that Jesus Christ is returning to the world to judge the living and the dead and all people will live forever in either a place of torment or a place of perfection.
